Update 1.9 - charges and stereochemistry
Today is the start of update 1.9. In this article an overview of the most important changes. The update was quite big and the next few days will be spent on fixing all the bugs that didn't come up during the testing phase.
Charges and stereochemistry
In the end it cost nearly a year, but the drawing tool (and the algorithm behind the scenes) now also supports charges and stereochemistry. Using the ± button in the drawing tool now allows you to modify the charge of an atom. The ⧉-button allows you to change the "depth" or the "Z-coordinate" of the atom. This allows for the drawing of molecules with a specific R- or S-stereochemistry. A more detailed explanations on these new functions will follow.
The support of stereochemistry was the last barrier for the development of a full course. Therefore, the priority from now on will be the creation of new study materials.
Other changes
- The website now automatically switches to "dark mode" whenever you have set this preference in your operation system
- Many pages on the website have a new design
- Donations will be replaced by ads
- From now on updates will simply be given a number (the next update will be called update 10 accordingly)
